Just Send It Shootout - Friday Report

8 West Coast Pro Modifieds made qualifying laps during day 1 of the Inaugural Just Send It Shootout, with points leader JR Lazic holding onto the number one spot by a narrow margin over last night’s event winner, Garrett Richards. Today’s qualifying rounds also featured a career personal best for WPI’s Toni Moretto, who took nearly a full tenth off his previous best.

The WCPM initially had four qualifying runs scheduled for today, however, cleanup from a lengthy oildown cut the schedule short and only three rounds were able to be completed.

After the three sessions, the qualifying order is:

Garrett Richards - 3.899 @ 193.55 MPH
Toni Moretto - 3.907 @ 192.06 MPH
Jay Syvertsen - 4.027 @ 189.87 MPH
Steve Goddard - 4.041 @ 178.29 MPH
Rick Barnhart - 4.254 @ 175.92 MPH
Steve Horne - 5.378 @ 90.36 MPH
Mike Gondziola - 5.783 @ 83.19 MPH

As a result of today’s qualifying being cut short, race fans tomorrow will be treated to a bonus round of qualifying in addition to a full day of eliminations, with the fourth and final round of qualifying scheduled for 12 PM MST.
