Doorwarz 12 - Sunday Recap

Sunday at Mission Raceway Park saw a vastly improved weather forecast and allowed the completion of eliminations and the Doorwarz 12 champion to be crowned.

On one side of the ladder, Dave Kowalski knocked off Eric Halverson, Rian Hayward and Nick Duda to make it to the final round, while Garrett Richards beat Ryan Griffin and Steve Horne to advance to the final.

Unfortunately, the highly anticipated final round was not the exciting close race that many hoped it to be, when Dave Kowalski encountered issues on his burnout and was unable to get the car into reverse and get it back to the beams. Garrett Richards, not wanting to risk hurting any parts of making contact with Kowalski’s car parked at half track, staged the car, took the green and idled forward to be crowned Doorwarz 12 champion and take the $10,000 cheque back south of the border.

Next up for the West Coast Pro Modifieds, the series shifts further north to the Rocky Mountain Nationals in Edmonton, Alberta, from July 12 to July 14.
