West Coast Outlaw Shootout - Saturday Report

Seven WCPM made the trip to Mission Raceway Park for the final round of the 2022 West Coast Pro Modifieds schedule.

Unfortunately for Gary Urlacher, after making the long tow over the Rocky Mountains, he and his crew discovered chassis issues with his 1963 Corvette that were unable to be addressed at the race track, and he made the difficult decision to head home.

Rian Hayward and his gorgeous 1969 Rick Jones built Camaro were also in attendance, but some unfortunate gremlins prevented him from recording a time.

Steve Nicholson’s nitrous Corvette is also at the track, however, his scheduled transmission replacement took longer than expected and he was unable to join the West Coast Pro Mods qualifying.

Four WCPM cars did make successful laps during qualifying, which in personal bests from Tom Reithmayer and Rick Barnhart.

Ken Sihota - 3.95 at 187 MPH

Tom Reithmayer - 4.05 179 MPH

Dave Kowalski - 4.07 at 179 MPH

Rick Barnhart - 4.17 at 179 MPH

Congratulations to Ken Sihota on winning the MHPD #1 qualifier award.

Eliminations are scheduled to begin at 1 PM tomorrow, with both Hayward and Nicholson making test laps with the rest of the West Coast Pro Modifieds.
