Night of Fire - Saturday Recap

The grandstands at Woodburn Dragstrip were standing room only for Saturday night’s WCPM eliminations at the annual Night of Fire.

In Round 1 Shane Molinari got past Art Raz, Garrett Richards beat Kirk lee and Mike O’Connor was first to the line against Gabe Cogswell. The biggest upset of Round 1 came when Eric Halvorson won a pedalfest against #2 qualifier Ryan Griffin.

Round 2 saw Garrett Richards take a single when O’Connor was unable to make the call, and Shane Molinari knocked off Eric Halverson.

The all-Washington final round saw Garrett Richards make a clean A to B 3.944 pass to beat a slow Shane Molinari. The win extends Garrett’s points lead in the 2024 championship.

Next up the West Coast Pro Modifieds head to Spokane, Washington from August 9th to 11th.
