Hot August Night - Thursday Report

10 West Coast Pro Modifieds have made the trip to Rad Torque Raceway this week for Hot August Night and the Just Send It Shootout.

Originally scheduled for Wednesday but delayed due to weather, Thursday featured a Chicago-style shootout for the West Coast Pro Modifieds, with three rounds of runs scheduled in front of capacity crowd.

The format featured all drivers in attendance participating in Rounds 1 & 2, with random pairings and lane assignments. Round 3 would be the finals, with the two finalists were determined by whoever won each of their first round matchups, and averaged the lowest ET over the two rounds.

The finals featured BC’s Steve Horne and Washington’s Garrett Richards, and after running a 3.902 at 193.38 in Round 1 and 3.900 at 193.55 in Round 2, Garrett Richards continued his bracket-like consistency with a 3.910 at 193.80 run in the finals to claim his first Hot August Night victory.
